About the Course Have
you ever wanted to build your own high-quality acoustic guitar? Hancock Guitars are now offering a two week intensive guitar making course held in relaxing Mount Tamborine in the Gold Coast Hinterland. During this time participants will gain knowledge of all the techniques of building an acoustic guitar while constructing their own instrument. We
personally conduct the course, providing instruction, advice and hands-on
demonstration. We teach participants both the theory and practical
techniques of building an acoustic guitar. We
cover all aspects of acoustic guitar construction during the course. Our
goal is to provide a comprehensive grounding in luthiery to participants
and demystify certain techniques which normally take years to understand. One
key advantage of our course is that we allow a maximum of 6 students per
course, this ensures a large amount of hands on instruction resulting in
the very high-quality finished instruments for all students. There
are no prerequisites for participants. Although some woodworking experience
is an advantage none is required. The course covers the following curriculum - o Side bending o Top and back joining o Rosette inlay o Fretboard inlay o Fretting o Top and back bracing o Full body assembly o Neck shaping o Neck setting o Purfling and binding o Top and back tuning o Finishing o Setup
